The albacore is highly prized by sports fisherman, and is a sought-after eating fish. A highly migratory species, it is known in seas throughout the world in a broad temperate range between 10º and 40º latitude, and can be caught near the surface when sea temperatures range between 15.6ºC and 19.4ºC. |
Dinghy The albacore is also a 4.5m planing dinghy raced in England, the United States and Canada. The albacore is relatively easy to learn for new sailors, but continues to challenge advanced sailors' tuning and tactical skills under racing conditions. |
